The Evolution and Development Of Computers to be continued

The Evolution and Development Of Computers

#21.    1998 Apple iMac

The Apple iMac has had six quite different iterations since its first debut in 1998: the huge bubble iMac design, the flat panel iMac, the enormous eMac, the iMac G5, the iMac with iSight (webcam), and lastly the current Aluminium iMac. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Macintosh_models_by_case_type has a thorough overview of the development of Macintosh products.

#22.     iPod (2001)

Okay, at this time, the development of computers is no longer confined to computers. Since the dawn of the 21st century, things haven't been so straightforward - we now have desktops, laptops, tablets, phones, mp3 players, and we're even getting to the stage where glasses and watches can perform the same range of tasks as a computer! Anyway, here is the first iPod; you didn't remember how it looked, did you?

#23.    (2002) Microsoft Tablet PC

In this image from 2002, a beaming Bill Gates is seen holding up a "super cool" Microsoft Tablet PC. Strangely enough, Apple has always had a flair for popularizing new inventions even when they were already in use elsewhere. They didn't always have a feel for it, but that isn't true; they most definitely do today.

#24.     2007 iPhone

There are currently more iPhones than humans in the globe. Imaginary, huh? Every iPhone advertising displays the time as 9:42. Additionally, the first iPhone was kind of created in 1983. In a vision by Apple computer engineer Hartmut Esslinger, house phones would have touchscreens to browse via an interface more primitive than the iPhone and iPad of today.

#25.    iPad (2010)

"Apple's plan is rather straightforward. What we want to accomplish is create a computer that is so fantastic that you can carry it about with you and learn how to operate it in only 20 minutes by reading a book about it. And back in 1983, Steve Jobs remarked, "We really want to do it with a radio link in it so you don't have to hook up to anything and you're in communication with all of these larger databases and other computers." He ultimately completed what he had set out to do 27 years later.

#26.    2015 Apple Watch

Approximately two months ago, the Apple Watch was unveiled, and whether you're an Apple lover or not, the promotional film is rather stunning. It is not meant to be used as a stand-alone product, but rather in conjunction with an iPhone 5 or later. The video is accessible at but truly has too many aspects to even attempt to describe here.

So there you go! Who knows what the next 100 years will bring, from an inspired revelation in 1822 for a device the size of a bedroom that could punch holes in a systematic and formulaic manner to produce results that would spare humans from having to calculate the equations themselves, to a device we can slip onto our wrist that connects us to everyone else wearing the device on their wrist and which holds the absolute pinnacle of current human knowledge.
